Dick Kelsey
Pastor Dick Kelsey graduated from Fort Wayne Bible College in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science degree in pastoral ministries. He pastored a community Church in Monticello, Indiana for three years before returning to college. After much hard work he received a master’s degree in Christian Administration. Later he returned to pastoring for two years in Michigan City, Indiana. Pastor Kelsey, with the help of another pastor, started a Christian school which he led for ten years.
Included in his life’s work Pastor Dick has been involved in political service in the Kansas Legislature, first as a state representative, then as a state senator. He owned and operated a residential boys’ home for ten years, a drug and alcohol treatment center and was executive director of the Wichita Alliance of Evangelical Churches for 12 years. Pastor Kelsey has also authored a book entitled The Success Puzzle. Pastor Kelsey’s has now served as the Senior Pastor at Rocky Branch Baptist Church since September 2017. He and his lovely wife Doris are quite a team, and they are both passionate about helping meet the needs of people in our community and enabling folks to hear the Good News about Jesus. Doris leads our Stitch & Chatter ministry, which God uses to reach out to ladies in the community who share a similar love for sewing and craft projects.
